It’s a story that plays out in households around the world and it’s called sibling rivalry. It all started with an email in early 2010 regarding the Gate River Run that year in Jacksonville Florida. I had run it once before in my mid 20′s but my brother Scott aka “Scotty Twan” had run it on multiple occasions. The email basically listed out how each person would finish the race and of course he had me listed toward the bottom knowing I hadn’t run and got myself pretty out of shape. I responded to the email saying well what if I beat you Scotty Twan and well the response was somewhat lighthearted like ok “Tbone” good luck. You see Scotty Twan had been training consistently for a while and was already in good shape and I only had a little over 8 weeks to go from just being able to cover about a mile to running a 15k 9.3 miles and lose about 25lbs. Certainly there were a few people that thought it might be possible but not many. I knew after my first week of running it was possible because I was dialed in and began to build a vision of victory. In fact I told “Scotty Twan” that at the 8 mile mark I would be with him at the Hart Bridge the toughest point in the race and that I would win the final push on pure guts to win the race and guess what that’s exactly what happened. Is that a coincidence or can your thoughts truly become things?

Here is a picture of me and my older brother Jason after the race:

Since that time I was supposed to return to give Scotty Twan his much deserved rematch but it hasn’t happened. So here we go again with another email amongst friends calling me out. You see after this run I went back to my Internet Marketing world and stopped pounding the pavement while Scotty Twan went to work. He is in the best running shape of his life right now in fact just completed the Tour De Pain in Jacksonville Florida which is a 5k,10k, & 1/2 marathon is 24hrs which is quit an achievement. He is hungry for his payback so I thought I owed it to him but I need time to train as I am back to square one again with nothing but my ability to literally create a vision and see it through.  So to set the stage for the ultimate test we’ve decided make the rematch the Jacksonville Bank Marathon this year 2012. Neither one of us has ever run a marathon but odds makers would have me as a pretty big underdog in this event as well. I have a good chunk of time to train but my victory will come from my ability to manifest it though building a vision and literally thinking it into existence. I told Scotty Twan that my prediction for this race is I will be with him at the 20 mile mark and for the last 6.2 miles I will beat him by GUTS alone.

Scotty Twan at the Tour De Pain In Blue Shirt:

This is truly an Ivan Drago vs. Rocky story as Scotty Twan has an elite running coach and the best equipment. I am only left to my remote location in Russia to embrace the pain and create the vision I will need to pull this off. In the end however he’s just a man like Ivan Drago and as long as I keep coming I have a chance. A lot can happen in the span of 26.2 miles. Let’s see who is willing to pay the price and claim victory on that day.

See you on Race Day Scotty Twan!
